of all skill levels

There’s nothing like biking in the mountains: breathtaking views, clean air, sheer endless freedom - far away from your everyday worries. A comfortable ride on the Penkenbahn cable car will take you from the center of Mayrhofen to the mountain station at about 1,790 meters above sea level in just 8 minutes.
If you want to go even higher, continue on to the Kombibahn Penken cable car, which offers open-air gondolas. You can also take your bike on both cable cars.

From the mountain station, you can explore the numerous Penken bike trails. No other mountain in the Ziller valley is as accessible and versatile as the Penken. You can explore 21 mountain bike routes for every skill level. The “Penkenbahn I” and “Panorama” routs take you to the Penkenjoch plateau. Both can be accessed from the Penkenbahn mountain station, and are perfect for families.

If you’re looking for action, there are various challenging trails with varied track layouts at about 2,000 meters above sea level, waiting to be explored.

On the Penken mountain, you can choose your own tour, combine it with a cable car ride, and repeat or extend it any way you like. There are also a number of different routes for more experienced bikers from the Ziller valley or the Tux valley to the Penkenjoch plateau. Click here for more information on available routes.
