Harakiri: Austria's steepest slope
On the first turns, most winter sports enthusiasts start brave and let their skis run. But soon they become more cautious, tentatively edging their way closer and closer to the legendary slope No. 34 with each swing. After all, it's not an ordinary downhill run.
It's the Harakiri - and it deserves respect, because with a gradient of up to 78 percent, it's only for absolute professionals. For most, it's the highlight of the day, if not the entire winter vacation.
Ready for the Harakiri? Doubting whether you can handle the Harakiri? Then try your hand at the not quite so extreme slope No. 12, the Devil’s Run. Its steep slope at the end is also considered the "Harakiri test" among locals. If you make it down here safely, you're ready for Austria's steepest slope experience!
- The Harakiri, slope No. 34, is located on Action Mountain Penken, more precisely in the Horberg Valley below the 6-seater chairlift Knorren.
- Opened in the winter season 2003/2004
- Total length of the Harakiri downhill run: 2 km
- The actual steep slope extends over 400 meters.
- Snowmaking: possible with advanced layering technique, otherwise the snow slides off.
- Preparation only possible with a winch and a specially designed piste machine with 430 HP, 9 tons weight, and 4 tons pulling power.
- The Harakiri, with a gradient of 78%, counts as Austria's steepest slope.
Experience the fascination of silent gliding and feel the unlimited freedom of floating weightlessly through the skies. Try it yourself or give away indescribable moments of happiness to your loved ones.
The Zillertal mountain world around the Granatalm offers a unique panorama. Here you can experience this grandiose scenery from a bird's eye view. Since 1995, FLUGTAXI MAYRHOFEN has been our partner, providing our passengers with unforgettable moments of joy!
By the way: Tandem flying is not only for action heroes. Even if you are a bit nervous before take-off - once you've lifted off, the joy is boundless!
